Takeda Art Co. is pleased to announce the exhibition of Nara’s works.
We are presenting and selling Nara’s works from in the 80’s before his study in Germany to the ones in the 2000’s.
Besides these masterpieces, the limited catalog “Yoshitomo Nara: The Complete Works” will be on sale.
The tax inclusive rate is JPY29,400.
The catalogs are a 3000 limited edition.

ガラパゴス・ファイン 2 によせて

画廊移転を機に企画したグループ展の第２回目です。
昨年のメンバーと大きく入れ替わり、平面3名、立体2名による新鮮な
顔ぶれになりました。

昨年に引き続き、永島・坂本・横川の新作を発表いたします。また、これまでも展示企画を通じてご紹介して参りました上記３名に加え、新たに
立体作家の大塚亨・戸塚くるみをご紹介させていただきます。

大塚・戸塚の双方が木を素材にして表現しています。
大塚亨は現代の生活空間で日常的に「手」にする品々を、仏師でもある彼の技法により緻密に再現しています。その正確な再現力は、木という素材を得ることで、見慣れた日用品を新鮮で意外な造形物にかたちを変えてみせるのです。

戸塚くるみが削り出すトリは軍鶏（闘鶏）です。
「紀悄子、王の為に闘鶏を養う」荘子・外編
トサカや足といった末端部をデフォルメした木彫りは、寡黙なモンスターの相貌を見せています。時を経て甦った現代版「木鶏」にご期待下さい。

固有の世界観とテクニックに拘わった彼ら独自の進化型をご高覧下さい。

Relating to Galapagos Fine 2

This is the Takeda Art Co.’s second original group exhibition since we moved to the new gallery.

3 painters and 2 sculptors have brought fresh sprit to this exhibition, greatly changing the members of the exhibition last year.
Takeda Art Co. presents new works of our regular artists; Nagashima, Sakamoto, and Yokokawa this year again.

In addition to these 3 painters, we would like to introduce 2 new sculptors, Ootsuka and Totsuka.

Both Ootsuka and Totsuka produce works using wooden materials.
Ootsuka converts daily necessities which are very familier to us into novel and original sculptures, through wooden materials.　
Daily items in the modern living space are precisely reproduced by him who is also a sculptor of Buddhist statues.

Totsuka is being at work “Tori (fighting cocks)”.
Her wooden figures with deformed cock-combs, toes or the end of the other parts are shaped to represent the looks of such, as quiet monsters.
“Chi Hsing Tzu was a trainer of fighting cocks for King Hsuan” Chuang Tzu Story–Fighting Cock.
We would like you to enjoy Totsuka’s “fighting cocks” of modern version which has been revived beyond time and space.

Takeda Art Co. hopes you will visit the evolving “Art Creatures Galapagos” which values their own independent world and striving for more exciting ways of expression.

HIROSHI WATANABE PHOTO EXHIBITION Comedy of Double Meaning

Takeda Art Co. is pleased to announce the “Hiroshi Watanabe Photo Exhibition.”
Watanabe, who plays an active role in the US, presents his works
in this year’s Venice Biennale official program “REAL VENICE” exhibition
as the only Japanese photographer.
Takeda Art Co. will exhibit and sell all the 13 pieces of portrait series of Comedia dell’Arte, made for ‘REAL VENICE’,
centering on the original gelatin silver prints. All of them have a very high quality.
We hope you will enjoy our exhibition.

Takeda Art Co. is pleased to announce that we will participate in
ART TAIPEI 2011 from Aug 26 to 29, 2011.

We will exhibit works featured Cai Guo-Qiang(蔡國強)
and Zao Wou-Ki(趙無極) from China, Japanese artists such as
Yayoi Kusama(草間彌生), Yoshitomo Nara(奈良美智)
in the large-scale art fair in Taiwan.

横川ヨコ初個展“ピクニック”を開催いたします。

横川ヨコが繰り広げる想像上の世界「フシギ共和国」。
ロールパンを頭にのせた子供。ステーキを口にくわえた子供。自慢の小物を手にしたコドモたち。
一見すると、フシギ共和国の住人は、わんぱく坊主や無邪気な子であったりするようです。
しかしながら、コドモたちは現代社会を見据えており、その目には社会の闇におびえた横川自身が重なり映るのです・・・。

独創的な「フシギ共和国」の約10点を展示いたします。
どうぞご高覧くださいますようお願い申し上げます。

The exhibition, yokoyokokawa 1st solo show ‘picnic’
Takeda Art Co. is pleased to hold Yokoyokokawa’s first solo exhibition titled “Picnic”.
We have selected ten strikingly attractive paintings which represent his distinctive arts from his fantasy world.
The fantasy world, which he calls “the Republic of Wonder”, appears to be cheerful and innocent.
In his world, in his paintings, children have mysterious eyes which are alarmed by fears for life in modern world and darkness of society.
These paintings are depicted based on his personal traumas that he has suffered from society in his life.

Hats: Left the hat with ribbon behind when I went out to play in the nearby field
Pumpkins: Held these pumpkins in my arms when I felt sad and lonely

And we are old friends.

You’ll see all her favorite shapes are actually made of “Dots and Nets”, though apparently they look figurative.
She continues expressing her motives repeatedly….

たけだ美術は、2011年1月12日から16日まで開催のアートステージシンガポールに出展いたします。
草間彌生の個展を催します。
70年代後半から現在に至る40作品を展示いたします。

草間彌生　 記憶の中の形　
花：家の店の中にあった、おびただしい数の花々
帽子：近くの野原に遊びに行って、忘れてきてしまったリボン付きの帽子
南瓜：物寂しくて悲しいとき、腕の中にしっかり抱いていたかぼちゃ

みんな幼馴染み。

一見すると具象に見える彼女お気に入りの形も、その全てはネットとドットの組み合わせによって構成されていることに気づく。
繰り返し表現され続けるモチーフ・・・。

たけだ美術移転企画Part 2として、“草間彌生：Dots and Nets”を開催いたします。

彼女を幼い頃から悩ませた、「てんてんボチボチ」と「あみあみ」の世界。
日常の景色の中に繰り返し現れる幻覚。
水の中に浮いて漂う丸い油玉、ガラスに走るダイヤモンド型の氷裂、
そして不思議にうねる無限の網。

今や草間の代名詞ともなった、ドットとネットというアイコンの表現を1950年代から、最近作（2007−2008年）まで、ペインティング中心に展示致します。

YAYOI KUSAMA: Dots and Nets

Takeda Art Co. is delighted to present a solo exhibition by Yayoi Kusama. This exhibition is the second project in the new gallery space.

Kusama has been suffering from hallucinations since early childhood. Kusama sees a visionary world of ‘‘dots’’ and ‘‘nets’’ repeatedly appearing as a recurring daily scene in her mind. For example, oil balls floating in the water, diamond-shaped ice clefts on the glass, and infinite strangely waved nets.

Dots and nets have become identified with Kusama’s work, therefore, we will mainly be exhibiting about fifteen works of her ‘dots’ and ‘nets’ work, which date from the 50’s until recently (2008).

彼らニホン人アーティストたちは、この地で自由に生きる為の棲みかを探し、そこにしか生えない食餌を採って棲息しています。
そして、今日も独自の進化（ガラパゴス化）を続けています。
ニホン島固有種であるかれらの仕事を、”ガラパゴス・ファイン”と名付け展示いたします。

These so-called ‘Nihon-jin artists’ (or Japanese artists) are searching for a place in which they can live freely and eat food which only grows in Japan and is indigenous to the islands of Japan. The term ‘Galápagos・Fine’ is a reference to the closed evolution within these young Japanese artists’ creations and is named after the phenomenon described by Charles Darwin’s Theory of Natural Selection in which species on the Galápagos Islands developed in a separate, isolated way from those in other locations.
